New features of Fragmenter v2024.09

Since the last release version there have been many new additions, many of them available in beta versions published on our Discord channel. So it was high time to release a massive new version. 

All the new things in Fragmenter v2024.09 are hard to list, we highlight the most important ones:

1. New Project window with layer list

- practically unlimited number of layers

- load project contents in addition (previously when loading a layer it always replaced the current content)

- change opacity of layers

- merge layers

- tag layers to help them organize and also to make it easier to trigger action on multiple layers by events defined in the Controls window

- two FX's can be applied at the same time

- kaleido FX that can non-destructively add a kaleidoscopic effect to your animation:

2. New Active layer window

- separated from the Project window to allow more space for both

- clipboard operations (copy/cut/paste frames)

3. Eraser

- there is a new eraser tool in the Tools window, can affect the current frame or every visible frame of a given layer

4. New Controls window

- automations previously called rules are separated to events and actions, this allows much more flexibility and one event to trigger multiple actions

- grouping of events

- beat timer events, replacing tick events, this is much more flexible and allows to sync multiple actions in a much easier way

- trigger events directly with a button, this way you can test controls without MIDI device in hand, also you can automate things for yourself, e.g., an A-B crossfade between layers with tags A and B:

- functions (ping-pong, sinewave, etc.) to alter the input coming from a MIDI or beat timer event

- more controllable parameters (layer play/pause, layer opacity, etc.)

- save controls into separate .frgctrl file (in Menu/File/Save controls)
